My interest in psychology began in high school. I was keen to learn about people, how they think, feel and function. After University studies in Perth and Hobart I worked as a Psychologist and Clinical Psychologist in Perth, Sydney, Canberra, Hobart and Darwin. I have worked in many sectors including market research, disability, mental health, child protection, child and adult trauma, adoption and reproductive technology.
I have loved working in the amazingly diverse area of psychology. I have been privileged to work with amazing colleagues and with many clients and their families who have trusted me to help them work through complex and often painful issues. Following my studies I have kept busy extending my own knowledge through regular training. My work has included assessment and therapy with a broad range of clients from young children through to older adults. I have expertise in the assessment and treatment of children and adults with Autism; and a long term interest in adoption and infertility. I am committed to best practice treatment of children, adolescents and adults with mental health problems.
Personally, I feel young, look older & mostly enjoy my life with all its variety and challenges. A great joy is when I can farewell a client with whom I have worked, who has moved psychologically from misery and dysfunction to optimism and direction. I also like to encourage junior clinicians working with difficult problems to achieve good outcomes.
